Deborah Parker, LPC
I specialize in trauma therapy for adults and adolescents struggling with PTSD, complex trauma (C-PTSD), anxiety, depression, panic, emotional dysregulation, relationship difficulties, and the effects of childhood trauma. My approach is trauma-informed, direct, compassionate, and practical, integrating CBT, somatic therapy, mindfulness, nervous system regulation, and evidence-based trauma treatment. I help clients understand how past experiences continue to affect their thoughts, emotions, relationships, and bodies while developing practical tools to feel more regulated, confident, and empowered.
Approach to Therapy
My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, direct, and collaborative. I don’t believe therapy should be limited to talking about problems or offering validation without helping you understand what is happening beneath the surface. We explore how your experiences have shaped your thoughts, emotions, relationships, behaviors, and nervous system—and what may be keeping certain patterns in place. I integrate CBT, trauma-focused interventions, somatic techniques, mindfulness, and nervous system regulation while tailoring treatment to the individual. I help clients recognize patterns they may not see themselves, challenge thinking that is no longer serving them, and develop practical strategies they can use outside of therapy. I view therapy as something we do together. I will listen and support you, but I will also ask difficult questions, offer another perspective, and encourage you to practice new ways of responding. The goal is not simply to cope better, but to understand yourself more deeply, feel more empowered, and build a life that is no longer organized around what you have survived.
