Jose Salcedo
I am a Licensed Social Worker Associate Independent Clinical (LSWAIC) with over 5 years of experience providing therapy to individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, substance use, and life transitions. My work is grounded in a trauma-informed, client-centered approach that prioritizes safety, trust, and meaningful connection.
I utilize evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), mindfulness-based interventions, and Solution-Focused Therapy to help clients build practical skills and gain insight into patterns that may be keeping them stuck. I have a strong focus on emotional regulation, helping clients better understand and manage intense emotions such as anger, stress, and overwhelm.
My experience includes working across behavioral health and state systems, providing crisis intervention, assessments, and wraparound support to diverse populations. I strive to create a nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to make lasting changes.
I offer services in both English and Spanish and am committed to meeting clients where they are, working collaboratively at a pace that feels right for them.
Approach to Therapy
My approach to therapy is collaborative, practical, and grounded in real-life application. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all model. Instead, I tailor each session to your specific needs, goals, and pace. I work from a trauma-informed lens, recognizing how past experiences can shape current thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. At the same time, I focus on helping you build present-day skills you can actually use outside of sessions. This includes emotional regulation, managing stress and triggers, improving communication, and developing healthier coping strategies. I integrate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), mindfulness, and Solution-Focused Therapy. This allows us to both explore deeper patterns and take actionable steps toward change. What sets my work apart is the balance between insight and action. We will not only talk about what’s going on, but also develop clear, practical tools to help you feel more in control and confident in your day-to-day life. I also bring experience working in behavioral health and state systems, which allows me to support clients navigating complex situations, higher levels of care, or significant life stressors. Above all, I aim to create a space where you feel respected, understood, and supported without judgment.
